Mayor De Magistris, in collaboration with the project coordinator Happy Balsam, explained that the project (called BlockChain Naples) aims to increase the local economy.
For example, those who bring municipal waste to an ecological island will receive tokens in exchange for spending on participating activities.
The system is constantly updated, as it is planned to expand the Bitcoin of Naples and bring it closer to other sectors, such as school canteens or bookstores.
Civil behavior will be rewarded, and the local economy will benefit most.
Symbolic was the gesture of the mayor De Magistris, who at the end of the Bitcoin presentation event in Naples (19 December 2018) ordered and paid for a pizza in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin in Naples and the era of applications
Soon, as the coordinator suggests Happy Balsam, from the website of the Municipality of Naples it will be possible to download the application for a more efficient and affordable service for everyone.
There are already two companies that intend to join the initiative: for example, to those who will park the car far from the center of Amn, or Neapolitan Mobility Company will assign a Token; as well as the Company of environmental hygiene services, which undertakes to guarantee Tokens to citizens who will telephone for the removal of bulky items and those who will make the best use of ecological islands for the disposal of their domestic waste.
Paying in Bitcoin will be safe, since the payments will be traceable; inevitably the project BlockChain will bring together citizens and institutions, in three key principles such as technology and innovation, respect and protection of the environment and increase in the local territorial economy.
