The new Samsung smartphones are blockchain-oriented

The new Samsung smartphones are blockchain-oriented. The first wallets land on South Korean devices.

In a few weeks Samsung will launch its new family on the market Galaxy S10. Confirming the growing expectation of these smartphones, a new series of images has been leaked on the web today showing a standard variant of Galaxy S10, enriched with what could be the company's first cryptocurrency wallet, Samsung Blockchain KeyStore.

Published for the first time by @ VenyaGeskin1 on Twitter (via SamMobile) these new images of the Galaxy S10 do not provide us with much new hardware information, and therefore reaffirm the presence of the usual thin bezels on all sides, and a front-facing camera inside of a small punching hole (instead of two).

However, what seems to us most worthy of attention, for our purposes, is that a new cryptocurrency application appears on the lead display that Samsung plans to launch with the Galaxy S10. The "Samsung Blockchain KeyStore" it is described as a "safe and convenient place for your cryptocurrency". To our knowledge, users will then apparently be able to import currency from other wallets, or create a new one with the application. The build shown only supports Ethereum, but presumably at launch it will also support Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies. Another screen also shows that KeyStore can be protected with biometrics.

Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S10, S10 + and S10 Lite on February 20.
