The co-founder of Ethereum Mihai Alisie stated during an interview that among his main fears there is an attempt by Facebook to deceive the regulatory bodies, thus leading them to approve a digital currency within a centralized reality.
Alisie explained during the interview to Bloomberg, in fact, that Zuckerberg to get the favor and the positive opinion of the regulators, in the future will lead Libra not to be controlled directly by the companies that are part of Libra Association, although this probably could happen after about 5 years after launch.
Facebook would therefore like to "Trick" the authorities, who have learned in recent years that the blockchain it does not present a simple regulatory system, and would like it to be treated as an entity for the realization of a centralized cryptocurrency.
Alisie fears mainly the control by of very large cooperations which can then lead to the censorship of transactions. For example, if a user opened a dispute with one of the companies that manage network nodes, such as the giants Mastercard, Paypal and Visa, this could then consequently simply block or cancel transactions.
So the potential centralization of the Facebook currency, could have significant effects on several fronts. Its influence could be felt in the economic, political, technological, security and data privacy fields. Facebook is therefore actively "manipulating" the behavior of millions of people worldwide.
even the co-founder of Ethereum Joseph Lupine is of the same idea as Alisie, in fact she said that "Libra is a centralized wolf that disguises itself as a decentralized lamb".
