Bitcoin, stability is the calm before the storm

Bitcoin, stability is the calm before the storm. Here is the analysis of some cryptocurrency experts.

The period of stability of the Bitcoin prices it could end abruptly, some cryptocurrency experts warn, who therefore point out that the tight market movements of Bitcoin in recent months is a sort of "calm before the storm".

In particular, referring to previous periods of stability, the founder of Albright Investment Group Victor Dergunov wrote in a blog post in which he said he expected to see prices increase substantially in the coming months.

“This is not the first time that Bitcoin he saw calm waters. We have seen similar periods of modest volatility and slight price swings, "he wrote, recalling that" in the first place, similar phenomena of low volatility occurred in the very late stages of the bitcoin bear markets [where prices drop as investors sell]. Everyone apparently loses interest, the volume dries up, the news flow calms down, and then, when you least expect it, the next bitcoin bull market starts [where prices rise as investors buy] ".

Dergunov's comments follow similar predictions from blockchain technology expert Ian McLeod, who last week told The Independent that the market of criptovaluta will explode later in 2019. According to Mr McLeod, however, the big price gains will come from one of bitcoin, as ether.

"We can expect bitcoin to lose 50% of its cryptocurrency market share in favor of ethereum (quotation ethereum), its closest rival, within five years, ”he said. "Ethereum is already light years ahead of bitcoin in everything but in price, and this gap will become more and more evident as more and more investors jump into cryptocurrency," he added.

Before 2017, bitcoin's last major price spike came in 2013, when its value rose from less than $ 100 to more than $ 1.000 in a matter of months. This was followed by a brief drop in prices before a sustained period of constant losses and market stagnation which saw bitcoin trade between $ 200 and $ 600 for more than two years. If bitcoin mirrors this trend, investors may have to wait a little longer, and perhaps 2020, for the next price drops or significant gains.
