With the token growing and the commitment in the Israeli elections, it has been a busy year for the founders of Bancor - Token del día Bancor 040518Coinbase announced last week that it is considering listing Bancor's BNT token.

The policy behind the growth of the token

Although Coinbase declined to comment further, it's not difficult to imagine why BNT ended up on the list. This token project saw a resurgence in May, facilitating nearly $ 10 million in trade volume and moving from one quotation around $ 0,20 per token at the start of the month to $ 0,85 at the end.

Bancor's growth, despite the large economic crisis in 2020, could be due to an update of the systems in April. But market analyst Andrew Kang said most of the transactions associated with growth are tied to a portfolio affiliated with Bancor Yudi Levi's CTO.

According to the Bancor Blockchair analysis site, BNT in particular has been used in over 10.457 transactions on Friday May 29, out of a total of 2,67 million transactions since 2017. BNT's growth comes along with a general increase in DEX tokens in the last few months.

However, one cannot fail to note that the DEX system is only increasing in value now that the Bancor team is acquiring political influence.

Data experts

It is proving an eventful year for the Bancor team even beyond the token activity. On March 2, 2020, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Bancor co-founders Eyal Hertzog and Guy Benartzi, along with their business partner, LiquidApp CEO Beni Hakak, for their "help" in using some "data" to win the March elections.

Taking a step back, token founders - who declined to comment on the election - raised more than $ 153 million in 2017 for the DEX project which now serves hundreds of people a day.

However, it is unclear whether Bancor and LiquidApps had anything to do with this software system during the Israeli elections. However, Israeli professor Anat Ben Dov said that the Netanyahu campaign data strategy "was turning citizens into whistleblowers" using both Facebook and a mobile app called Elector.

Oversized role

Tehilla Shwartz Altshuler, a researcher at the Israel Democracy Institute, said that "the data changed games in March 2020" because Netanyahu used Facebook's data to send "proactive" notifications to influence voters.

"The use of personal data to win an election is not exclusive to Israel, but is also happening across the rest of the world," said Altshuler. "It's similar to what was done in America in 2016."

In fact, Netanyahu has relied heavily on American consultants for this data strategy, including campaign strategist for President Donald Trump, John McLaughlin and former Breitbart journalist Aaron Klein.

Altshuler said Netanyahu and Trump have similar and complementary digital media strategies. Regardless of the political activism of the Bancor founders, their proximity to such data strategies can offer a competitive advantage.
