Libra speaks with the EU to seek agreement

The managing director of Libra Association, Bertrand Perez, confirmed that talks are currently under way with community regulators in order to facilitate the debut of the criptovaluta di Facebook, which should be launched on the international market for 2020. This is not unexpected news, given that Facebook is trying to soften the positions of global regulators in view of the launch of the cryptocurrency, but it is still a useful confirmation in view of some a more substantial fact on the part of both.

We remember how the cryptocurrency ended up in the spotlight of the authorities and governments around the world, with France e Germany as the most aggressive countries in Europe.

These preliminary talks, which will probably be part of a series of particularly continuous rounds from here to the launch of the digital currency of Facebook, should have a favorable outcome for the aims of the association, which - as already stated by Perez - is concentrating its efforts to be able to satisfy and respond to the growing regulatory concerns of governments around the world.

In short, June 2020 it is still sufficiently distant to be able to develop a strategy for entering global markets, but it is evidently necessary to accelerate an agreement with the most important regulators, such as the European and American ones, in order not to run the risk of postponing the debut of the cryptocurrency.

Moreover, Perez himself spoke vaguely of the delay, although although he said that the launch date constitutes a sort of "polar star", after all a delay of one or two months on the program would not entail a serious problem. The most important thing, said Perez, is that we comply with the regulatory authorities, and that the authorities are in line with the association, as well as fully convinced of their solutions.
