XRP proceeds smoothly in its growth

Almost all of the most popular cryptocurrencies have risen in price in the past few weeks. Bitcoin has briefly touched $ 12.273 in the past few days, similarly Ethereum has hit the $ 411 threshold. A few hours after registering these highs, both currencies plummeted.

Bitcoin dropped to $ 11.235 in five minutes, while Ethereum dropped to $ 373. At the same time, Ripple (XRP), the third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, continues to rise without encountering any obstacles.

In the past few days, it has peaked at $ 0,322561 retreating only slightly to $ 0,293835 in the following hours. XRP recorded a 42% surge in the last week for CoinGecko, and 9,6% on the last day for CoinMarketCap.

According to CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin has fallen by 3,5% in the past 24 hours; Ethereum rose 4,89% despite its arrest and XRP rose 9,6%. XRP is the only cryptocurrency in the top 20 that is proceeding smoothly, although the current price is still much lower than the all-time high of $ 3,40 set in January 2018.

The concerns of the XRP community

While it is true that old and new members of the XRP army are certainly happy with the increase in the price of the currency, it should not be overlooked that there is some concern about the hypothesis that dumping may reduce this momentum.

As reported in Whale Alert, Ripple has moved a total of 1 billion XRP from its escrow portfolio - which it usually does once a month - in particular by blocking 800 million of those in escrow.

What about the remaining 200 million XRP? At the time of this writing, Whale Alert has shared large transactions from Ripple for approximately 86 million in total, between the Ripple OTC distribution portfolio and unknown portfolios.

Another persistent question is that relating to Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb, who was owed 9 billion XRP after his departure as part of the agreement with the company. Yesterday, another transaction showed a move of 56.330.248 XRP from a settlement account to McCaleb's personal portfolio.

In the agreement with the company, McCaleb is authorized to sell a percentage of the daily volume of XRP, and so far he has sold around 2 million XRP every day.

However, if McCaleb were to sell a much larger sum at once to take advantage of the price hike, it could really hinder this growth. The XRP community is already fighting over social media about this possibility.
